Rylee Reece
Rylee is a Certified Lactation Consultant, Registered Nurse, and Bachelors of Science in Nursing from East Tennessee State University. Rylee has worked as a Registered Nurse in Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, and now Labor and Delivery and is currently working on her Masters of Science in Nursing.
Rylee is very excited to get to help the people of her community with breastfeeding!

Services with Lactation
Prenatal & Post-Delivery Consult
Together we will discuss how to prepare for breastfeeding, items needed for both your hospital stay and early days at home. I will ensure you are educated about how to get off to a great start immediately following birth, during hospitalization, and at home. There is so much information available today which can sometimes seem overwhelming and lead to misconceptions and confusion. We will help you create a personalized plan for breastfeeding success.
Tongue & Lip Assessment
Your baby is having unexplained problems with nursing, and you have discomfort while nursing despite what appears to be a correct latch, nipples are very sore and there is a poor transfer of milk when baby is nursing. This can be related to tongue and or lip tie and is often not identified by baby’s health care provider.
Breastfeeding a Premature Infant
This can be very stressful as your baby has special needs regarding weight gain, nursing, supplementing. Rylee's experience working in Labor & Delivery setting she can create a personalized feeding plan for your baby.
Returning to Work
This can be a very challenging time for a new mother and coming up with a plan of how to manage pumping, nursing, storage of breast milk, and a feeding plan when baby is away from mother can feel overwhelming. Together we can create a plan that will ensure a successful balance for both mother and baby.
Latch Issues
Baby is having difficulties latching, baby takes a long time to latch, frequently pulling off the breast, falling asleep shortly after nursing or having pain while nursing.
Nipple Pain
Pain with breastfeeding is a reason to get help. This is not a normal part of breastfeeding and if allowed to continue can lead to nipple trauma, risk of infection and can be very disheartening for mother.
Nipple Confusion/Breast Refusal
This can be very stressful for a mother and there can be many explanations for the baby’s refusal to nurse. Together we can explore reasons and come up with solutions for successfully returning your baby back to the breast.
Weaning
This can be a difficult time for both mother and baby and often a mother can feel overwhelmed and confused by all the conflicting information given by well-meaning family and friends. Rylee can share ideas about a gentle approach to weaning that will ensure a successful transition for both mother and baby.
Management of Engorgement
Breasts that are very firm, aching, and /or painful. Perhaps you are unsure if this is normal or symptoms could be related to mastitis, plugged ducts, or yeast/thrush.
Infant Weight Gain Issues
The baby is not gaining weight as expected, baby still appears hungry after nursing; you are having to supplement with formula despite your plan to exclusively breastfeed; low milk supply.
Induced Lactation/Re-lactation
Breastfeeding is a very special part of becoming a parent whether you birth, adopt, or use a surrogate.
There are many techniques to help induce lactation and we can help guide you and come up with a personalized plan for your family.
Pump Flange Fitting
Struggling with pain, leaks, or low milk output while pumping? A quick measurement isn’t enough. We offer hands-on flange fittings with a variety of sizes and shapes to find your true fit for comfort and supply.

Some insurance plans will cover the cost of your care up-front. Such as CIGNA, United Health Care and Aetna. You can verify coverage or request coverage by calling our office at 423-447-2955 or speaking with your insurance provider.
Self - Pay Options are also available.

Our lactation office provides a comfortable and homey setting for you to seek the support you need! We have some toys available to occupy younger children if you need to bring them with you to your appointment and a calming environment to speak with the lactation counselor about any issues or information you may be seeking!
